Welcome to the year 2010 – As you probably know, it’s a big year for Microsoft and our user group, as the entire .NET community prepares itself for the launch of a new suit of product launches. While we do have our plans lined up to talk about the latest technologies, we’re always more keen to hear some inputs from yourself, to tell us about what you want to hear for the rest of the year.

February UG Meeting

We didn’t manage to get together in January 2010 as CTU was just over on 19th December. However, we’ll resume our monthly UG meeting on the 1st Thursday of every month (subject to availability of speaker and venue).

February UG meeting is held on 4th February 2010, at Level 22 CF12, NTUC Building from 1845 – late. Light Refreshments will be served before the session.

Learn about how Team Lab Management in TFS 2010 enables better collaboration between software developers and testers.   We will show you how testers can use Test and Lab Manager to plan tests, associate requirements, execute test cases and reports bugs with invaluable information ensuring that the developers are able to fix the reported bugs.

Speaker Profile

Maung Maung Phyo currently works as a Developer Tools Technical Specialist in Developer & Platform Evangelism team, Microsoft Singapore.  Prior to joining Microsoft, he worked for NCS Pte Ltd where he architected and implemented numerous business solutions using .NET tools and technologies.  He was awarded Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) in Visual Developer - Security category.  Maung Maung, being passionate about technologies, loves getting his hands dirty with latest Microsoft servers and technologies, enjoys sharing his knowledge with others.  You can catch Maung Maung at the various Microsoft events, such as MSDN TechTalk, TechEd SEA, MEDC, TechFest, Mix-it-up, and also at the community events.

Singapore Silverlight User Group Meet Up

Our local MVPs (Justin and Michael) are organizing a social gathering on 10 Feb 2010 from 7pm to 10pm @HackerspaceSG (70A Bussorah Street). See Silverlight 4.0 in action and discuss or brainstorm Silverlight 4 projects.

This is an informal social gathering to amass like minded developers.

Michael Sync (Silverlight MVP) will be sharing with you “What’s New in Silverlight 4.0″ in 15 minutes.

Followed by a roundtable session to know everyone. We will also share projects/ideas that developers are working on.

Visual Studio 2010 and .NET Framework 4 Launch Date
