LOVE 2007 got off to a wet-start as it was raining early in the morning, at Microsoft Singapore in NTUC Building. Nevertheless, it didn't get in the way of 140+ participants, who turned up on a Saturday to attend LOVE 2007 Community Launch. LOVE 2007 is jointly organised by Singapore .NET Professional User Group (SGDN), Singapore Windows User Group (SWUG) and Singapore Office User Group (SGOG).
LOVE 2007 revolved around the launch of Vista, Office Systems, Exchange 2007 and .NET 3.0. As the crowd comprises of IT Professionals, Information Workers and Developers, 2 tracks (IT Pro and Developer - 8 topics in all) were customised to suit to different needs. Each topic was diligently prepared and delivered precisely by 9 experts, 6 of which are Singapore MVPs. To top it all, there was also a Meet-The-Expert corner set up by 3-4 MVPs, ready to answer questions and discuss with the participants.
Dilip Mistry addressed the crowd by delivering the keynote, covering a wide range of technologies within Microsoft, well suited for such a diverse crowd. Afterwhich, each participant went to their track of interest, held at different locations. At 1200 hrs, lunch was served at Microsoft Level 21 and 22 pantry, where many participants sought after the sumptous food after several hours of absording new knowledge and information.
Many of the participants stayed behind until the very end, and was well rewarded with the lucky draw, where many participants walked away with a big smile. Why? Because Matthew Hardman gave an impressive closing address and cheered each individual for making the extra effort to attend the event on a non working day. And the lucky draw includes prizes ranges from books on latest technologies, licensed copies of Vista, Office 2007, WIN2K3, Disk Keeper and even Visual Studio & Sql Server 2005!
At the end of the event, all particpants came together and a group shot was taken. LOVE2007 is finally over! Watch out for the next SG Community event...
