| 19/12/2009 10:00 AM | HOL01 | | Bernard Lai / Tan Chee (Proctors) | In this HOL session, you will experience one of the ways that a combination of Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7 can reduce the operational cost of a branch office significantly, while at the same time improving the work experience for users who work there.
This is done using a technology called Branch Caching. This is a feature that is included with Windows Server 2008 R2 and also with Windows 7. Branch Caching is designed to reduce the load on expensive branch office WAN links by implementing a cache in the branch. This is a peer cache in which all clients share use of the cache. When one client downloads a file, it caches the file locally. Before any other client downloads the same file, they first check the caches of all peers for a local copy, and if available, download the file from there.

DirectAccess is a new technology that allows a remote user’s computer to be connected to the corporate network at all times, without needing special VPN connections. | | | 19/12/2009 1:45 PM | HOL03 | | Shaji Firoz (Proctor) | Have you ever sent a really well thought out, important email, only to find out (through an automatic response) that the recipient is on vacation for two weeks? For most of us, this means either waiting two weeks for a response or emailing an alternate contact. For the recipient, it means dealing with tons of messages when returning from vacation. This scenario is one of the many reasons Microsoft developed MailTips in Exchange Server 2010. MailTips are there to give you information about your message and its recipients before you hit the send button. In this instructor led lab session, walk-through the some key steps to enable MailTips in Exchange 2010 server and demo some of its functionalities using Outlook 2010 (beta) client. | | | 19/12/2009 3:15 PM | HOL04 | | Shaji Firoz (Proctor) | Have you ever sent a really well thought out, important email, only to find out (through an automatic response) that the recipient is on vacation for two weeks? We will begin by discussing user experience improvements in RemoteApp and Remote Desktop. Then we will discuss remote application improvements by integrating Applications in start menu. Next, we will explore Remote Desktop Services manageability improvements. The topics will include Windows PowerShell support, improved application installs, single management console for both RemoteApp & Desktop connections and RemoteApp and Desktop Web Access, Single sign-on experience within a workspace, and connection broker install & profile management. Finally, we will explore how Remote Desktop Services improves presentation services by providing a single broker to connect users to virtual machines. The topics will include enhanced solution for VDI scenarios with Hyper-V. | | | 19/12/2009 11:30 AM | ITP02 | | Triston Wan | Due to the increased dependancy on the CAS role in the new Exchange Server 2010, creating high availability for the CAS role becomes important.
This session will provide an insight on how new Client Access Server (CAS) role works with Exchange Server 2010 as compared to CAS role in Exchange Server 2007. Followed by the presentation, the demo will showcase how CAS array has been designed in Exchange Server 2010 infrastructure.
| | | 19/12/2009 1:45 PM | ITP03 | | Sainath K.E.V | Windows Security is always the most important and widely seen feature. Unauthorized , Protect , Access Denied, Security, are few of the repeated terms we come across very often.
We implement the security without knowing the internal implementation which sometimes becomes night mare.
Where are the system security policies stored ? How are our user accounts stored What happens during "Preparing network connections" Relation between registry and sub systems
To know about the above concepts and to dive deep into windows security internals and the debugging tools, just sit back and relax and digest as much as possible . Its Fun.
Also will introduce to some of the debugging tools which Microsoft uses to troubleshoot the issues . | | | 19/12/2009 3:15 PM | ITP04 | | Sanjeev Kumar | When I heard about the new BranchCache feature in Windows 7 and Windows server 2008 R2, I first thought it a tremendous idea! If you haven’t heard about BranchCache, then let’s explore this awesome feature. I am super excited to talk about it as this features adds value to ROI and also helps solves problems for IT folks who are struggling to increase file access performance over WAN. Let’s see what Microsoft has new in Its Magical box. It would be great fun. | |
